What is included with Chan8e premium lenses?
Why choose aspheric lenses over standard lenses?
Aspheric lenses provide sharper edge‑to‑edge vision, reduced distortion, and a slimmer, more refined profile compared with standard lenses.
They’re an excellent choice for everyday clarity and are particularly beneficial for stronger prescriptions, where both visual quality and appearance matter most.
What is anti reflective (AR) coating, and is it good for driving?
Anti‑reflective coating reduces glare and unwanted reflections, allowing more light to pass through the lenses to your eyes.
It’s especially helpful for night driving, wet or low‑light conditions, screen use, and bright indoor lighting, improving comfort and visual clarity.
What does the hydrophobic coating do?
This helps keep your vision clearer in wet weather and makes lenses quicker and easier to clean.
What does the scratch resistant coating do?
It helps protect the lens surface from everyday wear, such as cleaning and general handling.
While no lens is completely scratch‑proof, this coating helps lenses stay clearer for longer.
Do the lenses include UV protection?
Yes. All our sun lenses provide full UV400 protection to help shield your eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays.
For high‑exposure activities such as skiing or snow sports, we recommend wraparound frames or protective goggles for full coverage and better eye protection.
Are these coatings included, or do I pay extra?
Do the lens coatings wear over time?
How can I make my lens coatings last longer?
- Use a clean microfibre cloth
- Use a proper lens cleaner made for glasses
- Avoid household cleaners, alcohol wipes, tissues, kitchen roll, paper towels or rough fabrics
- Don’t leave glasses in hot places like parked cars, near radiators or in direct sunlight
Heat, chemicals and abrasive materials can damage coatings and affect frame shape over time.
Anything else I should know?
Lens performance may vary slightly depending on your prescription and how the lenses are used day to day.
If you have any questions before or after placing your order, our team is always happy to help.
Do you offer prescription sun lenses?
We offer in-house photochromic prescription lenses from £38. They darken when exposed to sunlight and return clear indoors, allowing them to work as both everyday glasses and sunglasses — without the need to switch pairs.
All photochromic lenses include our everyday protective coatings as standard, including scratch‑resistant, UV protection, anti‑reflective, and hydrophobic coatings.
Simply select photochromic lenses using the Select Lenses button on the product page.
What do tint categories mean?
Tint categories describe how dark the sun lenses are and how much light they allow through. They help you choose the right lenses for different lighting conditions.
Category 0 — Very Light Tint
For fashion or very low light. Almost clear. Not suitable for bright sun.
Category 1 — Light Tint
Mild sun protection. Good for overcast days or soft, diffused light.
Category 2 — Medium Tint
General sun protection. Suitable for everyday outdoor use in moderate sunlight.
Category 3 — Dark Tint (Most Common)
Strong sun protection. Ideal for bright sunlight, driving, and daily wear. (This is the category most fashion sunglasses use.)
Category 4 — Very Dark Tint
For extreme brightness (e.g., mountains, snow). Not suitable for driving due to low light transmission.
Are the lenses polarised?
Check the “Polarised” filter under Frame Detail or see the product page.
Do your sun lenses offer UV protection?
Yes. All our sun lenses provide full UV400 protection to help shield your eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays.
